By using the Red Paper website and its services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use our platform.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you access our services:

• Full Name
• Email Address
• Institution/Organization (if applicable)
• Age, Gender, Location (PIN code)
• Uploaded documents or text content
• Payment details (Credit/Debit card, UPI, etc.)
• IP Address, Browser type, and Device information
• User login activity and site usage behavior

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information may be used for the following purposes:

• To provide plagiarism scanning services
• To generate and deliver plagiarism reports
• To offer customer support and respond to inquiries
• To send important service-related updates
• To improve user experience, develop new features, and analyze usage trends
• To process payments securely

3. Cookies and Tracking

We may use cookies or similar technologies to enhance your browsing experience. Cookies help us recognize you, understand your preferences, and improve our services. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may limit some features of our website.

7. Uploading Content to Our Platform

Uploading content to our platform is at your own risk. We do not review or store content permanently, and users must ensure that their submissions do not violate any third-party rights.

Red Paper in ChatGPT, Claude and other connected apps

You may connect your Red Paper account to ChatGPT (the "Red Paper" plugin), Claude (the "Red Paper" connector) or another app that supports the Model Context Protocol. When you do:

• What we receive: the document you ask the app to check and the language you choose. From ChatGPT the document is downloaded once, over an encrypted connection, from the temporary file link ChatGPT provides (OpenAI's file storage), together with an anonymous user identifier. From Claude we receive the text of the document you ask Claude to check, sent over an encrypted connection; it is saved as a plain-text file and processed like an upload. We do not receive your ChatGPT or Claude conversation, other files, memory, email address or account details from the app.
• How it is used: the document is processed exactly like an upload on our website: it is analysed by our plagiarism-detection engine to generate the similarity report, and the report is stored in your Red Paper account under My Reports. Credits are deducted from your existing Red Paper balance.
• What the app receives back: the scan status, similarity and AI-text percentages, word count and a link to your report on our website. Per-source match details stay in your report.
• Retention: documents and reports submitted through a connected app follow the same retention rules as website uploads (see Section 10). Access tokens issued to the app expire after one hour and are refreshed for up to 90 days; revoking the connection deletes them.
• Control: you can disconnect an app at any time from your Red Paper account (Connected apps), or by removing the plugin in ChatGPT or the connector in Claude. Disconnecting stops further access immediately; your existing reports remain in your account.
• Payments: connected apps cannot buy credits, change your subscription or access payment details. Credits are managed only on our website.

8. Disclosure of Information

We may disclose your information:

• To our payment partner (PhonePe) for transaction processing
• To legal authorities upon receipt of formal orders
• To protect our rights or respond to claims
• To our internal IT or support teams, under confidentiality

We never sell or share your data for commercial gains.

9. Limitation of Liability

Red Paper and Akinik Publications Pvt. Ltd. shall not be liable for:

• User-uploaded content violating copyright or third-party rights
• Security breaches resulting from force majeure events (e.g., hacking, server failure)
• Any unauthorized use of your account credentials
• Consequential damages or legal actions arising due to misuse of our platform

User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the operator against all claims and liabilities.

10. Retention Policy

• Uploaded documents and report files: Deleted automatically 7 days after the scan
• Transaction records: Retained for audit and legal compliance
• User communications: Retained for 6 months for support resolution

11. User Rights

Under Indian law, users have the right to:

• Request access to their stored personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion (subject to audit/legal needs)
• Withdraw consent at any time by writing to the Data Protection Officer at support@checkplagiarism.ai

12. Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located at Rohini, Delhi.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the platform after such changes indicates your acceptance of the revised Policy.
